Unrepeatable in both design and location, Fenwick stands as one of Victoria’s most unique multi-residential developments – a series of three distinct pavilions, comprising eight apartments and one house. The project is perched atop the escarpment adjacent to Yarra Boulevard, offering sweeping views of the Yarra River and Yarra Bend Golf Course, and glimpses of Mount Macedon on the horizon. Anchored by this profound natural backdrop, the homes were conceptualised to collapse the boundaries between interior and exterior environments, allowing the views to command the living spaces.
Designed by Edition Office, Fenwick honours the legacy of modernist architecture that underpins the Studley Park precinct. The facade is characterised by a restrained and organic palette of materials, composed predominantly of board-marked concrete, copper, galvanised steel and timber. The landscape, designed by Eckersley Garden Architecture, envelopes the building in canopy trees, shrubs and creepers, enabling the architecture to blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment. Existing as an extension of the landscape, the interiors combine fine aesthetic details, authentic materials and bespoke joinery elements.
